Interpreting your BMI
Until you work out what your BMI (Body Mass Index) means in terms of being a healthy weight, it's just a number. When it's turned into a description of your weight, however, you know whether to increase or decrease your DI of energy.
| Body Mass Index (BMI) | Weight Status |
|---|---|
| Below 20 | Underweight |
| > 20-25 | Normal |
| > 25-30 | Overweight |
| > 30 | Obese |
These values are sourced from the Australian Government's "Healthy Active" website.
If your BMI is greater than 25, you may need to alter your energy balance.
